ASME Flow Nozzles

ASME Flow Nozzles produce overall lower permanent pressure loss as compared with Orifice Plates.  Also, for the same generated pressure differential, Flow Nozzles will provide nearly twice the maximum flow rate.  Flow Nozzles have no sharp edges in the flow stream to erode and cause calibration shift.  Flow Nozzles behave similarly to Venturi Flowmeters, except they have no pressure recovery exit cone.  The generated differential pressure is the total pressure drop.  Below is a typical ASME Flow Nozzle and several Installations:
